Markieff Morris, fresh off missing the final half of Sunday’s Game 1, said that he’d be good to go for Tuesday’s Game 2.
Take this with a grain of salt, as players are hardly the best at projecting their own recovery times. While Morris said that he thought his ankle broke when the injury first occurred, he also tried to convince team doctors to let him finish off the game. Ankle injuries like that can worsen overnight, so we’ll see what comes of this situation when the Wizards meet the media tomorrow. If he were to miss any time in this series look for Kelly Oubre to start (he started the second half on Sunday) with an extra batch of minutes for Otto Porter. The team could start Jason Smith, though they’d probably prefer to have him play behind Marcin Gortat with Ian Mahinmi still sidelined. They could also use Bojan Bogdanovic more in an effort to replace Morris’ shooting touch, though going small might play into Boston’s hands. We’ll see what Scott Brooks cooks up.
