Oliver Maroney of Basketball Insiders indicates that Blazers forward Meyers Leonard is feeling good both mentally and physically and hoping to put last year’s injuries behind him.
Leonard has a history of injuries over the last two seasons, most notably to his left shoulder. He signed a four-year contract this offseason worth $41 million so he enters training camp with some financial peace of mind. He will be competing for minutes with the likes of Mason Plumlee, Ed Davis, Moe Harkless, Al-Farouq Aminu and Festus Ezeli. While there is some intrigue to Leonard’s ability to spread the floor, the loaded frontcourt in Portland makes it difficult to trust him in standard leagues this season. We suggest you look elsewhere for frontcourt help.
