Mike Conley is dealing with an infection in his injured left big toe according to coach David Fizdale.
David Fizdale said before the game that it was caused by a “a broken toenail-type of thing,” adding: “When those 7-footers step on your toes, that’s not pleasant. Unfortunately for us, (the infection) went back into his toe.” That adds an element of uncertainty as infections can have any number of timetables, but as we’ve seen with George Hill in Utah — toe injuries can have big timelines too so this might indicate it’s less serious.
Andrew Harrison (10 points, 3-of-7 FGs, two threes, two boards, three assists, one block) will continue to start and be a low-end option, while owners will continue to get heavy doses of (point) Mark Gasol. Gasol scored 25 points on 9-of-20 shooting (0-for-3 3PTs, 7-of-9 FTs) with eight boards, two assists, one steal and five blocks in Thursday’s win over the Thunder.
