The Pacers announced that Myles Turner has been placed in the league’s concussion protocol and will miss the team’s Friday and Saturday games as a result.
Turner could miss more than that, as he’ll have to get through the protocol to return once his symptoms are resolved. It leaves the Pacers in a huge bind, as their frontcourt depth is very thin. Domantas Sabonis is the big winner as the new starting center and can be looked at as an extremely short-term add, while T.J. Leaf should be getting guaranteed minutes in the teens now. Al Jefferson and Ike Anigbogu are the traditional centers on the roster but don’t seem likely to get more playing time, as they’re both weak alternatives at this point in their respective careers. More shots are coming for the rest of Indiana’s starters, so give them a bump too.
