Nerlens Noel (knee) expects to play on Saturday against the Blazers, but coach Brett Brown isn’t sure if that will happen.
Owners can’t really bother themselves with trying to figure out who will win that tug-of-war, but it’s good news that Noel is thinking about coming back. He probably gets one more strike in that regard, if the Sixers even let him back on the court which is a very real possibility.
Carl Landry becomes a 16 & 7 guy with good field goal percentage for owners to look at if Noel misses time, and then Richaun Holmes is your upside play as he gets back to health following his Achilles’ injury. Robert Covington has top-50 upside already and that would rise if Noel gets shutdown, while Jerami Grant and Hollis Thompson aren’t necessarily going to see a boost in their upside, but rather an improvement of their 12-14 team floors.
