Nicolas Batum (elbow) will not return to Wednesday’s game against the Wizards after hurting his elbow late in the second quarter.
Jeremy Lamb started the second half in his absence. He looked to have bumped his elbow into Otto Porter, the same elbow that kept him out for the first month or so of the season. Hopefully he hasn’t re-injured it in anyway. We’ll keep you updated if anything comes in, as of now Lamb is the main beneficiary.
Update: The Charlotte Observer reported that Batum could have had season-ending surgery on his elbow but a Dallas-based specialist diagnosed that Batum could recover without surgery. It’s unclear if this injury would cause that decision to be revisited. Stay tuned and make sure Lamb wasn’t dropped in your league, which shouldn’t have happened in the first place but might have.
Update II: Apparently there’s going to be a delay in evaluating the injury, or that’s just what the team is putting out there. Consider this a non-news update.
