Nikola Jokic told Altitude’s Chris Dempsey that he can’t jump off his injured left leg and that running is an issue as well.
That’s problematic. Jokic is dealing with an ankle sprain and did get in a workout after the team’s Friday shootaround, so at least he’s making some progress. He said, “I cannot jump with my left leg. I still cannot jump. That’s the main problem.” Given this dispiriting update, he’s looking questionable at the very best for next week’s action, though the team is hoping he returns on their current six-game road trip. Owners should seek out contingency plans if they were expecting Big Honey back in the lineup next week. The Nuggets will continue to use Mason Plumlee, Kenneth Faried and Trey Lyles while their two star big men are out and all three replacements are names you should know. Faried is a locked-in starter while it’s been Lyles who has had the nicest lines of late. Nobody there is a great standard league play but you could do a lot worse.
