The Mavs have no timetable for the return of Dennis Smith Jr., with coach Rick Carlisle telling Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com that getting their point guard 100 percent healthy is the team’s top priority.
As it should be. Still, it’s incredibly frustrating for fantasy owners who are already coming to grips with the fact that Smith was spectacularly overdrafted. He’s been absolutely brutal from an efficiency standpoint and hasn’t delivered gaudy numbers elsewhere to offset the harmful percentage from the floor. He probably should be on more waiver wires at this point but we understand if you’re very attached. He still has a great opportunity in front of him when he returns and could turn things around as the season progresses. J.J. Barea, Yogi Ferrell and Devin Harris will all see more time and are listed in pickup priority order even though Ferrell typically draws the starts.
