Jusuf Nurkic did not participate in shootaround on Monday due to his ailing knee, and along with Joffrey Lauvergne (cheekbone contusion) they are both game-time decisions for Monday’s game against the Heat.
That sound you hear is the deflating of owners’ hopes that Nurkic could turn the corner. Yes, he could get healthy and somehow use the momentum from his last game to overtake Lauvergne in the rotation, but if you can’t afford to gamble like that then it’s fine to move on. One of Michael Malone’s issues with using Nurkic has been his inability to stay healthy. On a standalone basis, Darrell Arthur has been serviceable lately and the Nuggets’ trio of four-game weeks make him an appealing pickup.
