Omer Asik will be active, but will not play Wednesday night versus the Spurs, according to William Guillory.
Asik is not in game shape as he has not played in a game since February of last season after being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and losing 30 pounds. “Even when he’s released to play, it’s going to take a while for him to be able to play anything other than really short spurts,” said Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry. It looks like there is very little room in the Pelicans’ rotation for Asik as it is. There is no reason to add or own him in any league.
