Though both will miss Summer League, Mark Montieth of Pacers.com reports that rookie big man Ike Anigbogu will likely be ready for training camp while guard Edmond Sumner will probably not be healed from his knee injury in time for camp.
Anigbogu was projected to go in the first round before a major slide led him to Indiana at pick No. 47. The freshman from Cal battled knee injuries and underwent surgery in October to repair his right meniscus, though there are currently no long-term concerns about his health. Sumner was once thought to go in the first round but teams were scared off by a torn ACL he suffered in January. A guard whose major attributes were quickness and explosion, the Pacers are hoping that he makes a full recovery and returns to form. Neither figures to make an NBA impact this season and it’s assumed they’ll spend the majority of their time in the G-League.
