Patrick Beverley (knee) will miss the remainder of the season according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Beverley requires surgery to repair a microfracture and meniscus injury to his right knee which will sideline him for nine months. He returned to action on Monday after a five-game absence but that didn’t last at all as the Clippers received this bad news. Beverley was producing top-65 value so far this season so that’s a big hole to fill. Austin Rivers and Lou Williams are the immediate beneficiaries who should be owned in most formats. Sindarius Thornwell gets a bump in deeper leagues while Milos Teodosic remains on the sidelines.
Update: We were able to find some video of Teodosic working on the sidelines and though the Clippers aren’t going to push him into action when he’s not ready, this injury makes him worth a hard look at a preemptive stash.
We’re not sure about the stat set but even though the Clips have a number of guys that can handle the rock, they lock a true point guard that can really bring things together. If Teodosic can get 30 or even 28 mpg then he’s a pretty good bet to be a late round value with upside beyond that if he hits threes and can steal the ball.
There will probably be some sort of update on him soon now that Beverley has been ruled out for the year, so owners are forced to stash without any real sense of the timetable. If news is bad, you can move on if you wish.
*Look in the far corner for Milos
