Pau Gasol (knee) will not play on Thursday against the Knicks and Derrick Rose is dealing with back stiffness.
Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic are must-start players, and then the low-end producers like Mike Dunleavy, Aaron Brooks and Justin Holiday are bound to have one of them pop. Doug McDermott is an excellent bet to score more than 15 points with two or more threes tonight. Fred Hoiberg says that the Bulls hope to have Gasol back for Saturday’s game against the Magic. If the back stiffness holds Rose back and Jimmy Butler continues to look bad, then the shifting production will flow to the aforementioned low-end guys and we could see some desirable pickups in advance of the Bulls’ upcoming five-game week. Rose should be in most lineups tonight, as should Butler.
Hoiberg says Gasol still has some swelling in his knee. They're hopeful he will be able to play Saturday in Orlando.
