Rajon Rondo (groin) left Friday’s game against the Thunder seven minutes into the first quarter and did not return.
The injury does not seem to be serious as coach Alvin Gentry said that it did not make sense to put Rondo back in since it was a preseason game. Groin injuries can be tricky if not taken care of properly so this is something to keep an eye on. Rondo will be the Pelicans’ primary ball-handler and should have no problem racking up assists this season. E’Twaun Moore and Ian Clark would absorb Rondo’s minutes if he were to miss any time.
