Julius Randle did not practice on Saturday due to a right intercostal strain and will be re-evaluated on Monday.
The good news is he was still able to put up some shots on the practice court on Saturday. The bad news is this is a different injury concern to the back spasms which forced him to leave Friday’s game early against the Clippers and it’s unclear if he will be ready for the season opener next week. Randle was picked by many early on as a breakout candidate this year, but his fantasy stock has since come down a bit with injury concerns as well as the emergence of Kyle Kuzma as one of the best players during the NBA preseason. He remains a solid mid-to-late round target, but he carries more risk with him now than he did a month ago.
