While Reggie Jackson remains without a timetable for return and has yet to return to practice, though Stan Van Gundy didn’t change the earlier expectation that Jackson could begin running and cutting over the next few days.
Jackson is approaching two months on the sidelines after his Grade-3 ankle sprain, which initially came with a 6-8 week timetable. Rod Beard of the Detroit News speculated that it could be “a few more weeks” before Jackson gets back to full practices, though there haven’t been any official setbacks since he sustained the injury. It does sound like Jackson will take longer than initially anticipated, however, as SVG said “I don’t have any preconceived notion at all of when he’ll be back.” Ish Smith should maintain low-end value in the meantime with Jameer Nelson backing him up. Jackson hitting the benchmark of running and cutting this week would be one of several hurdles on his road to recovery.
