Jayson Tatum is out for the next five days and he will be re-evaluated on September 9th due to the sprained left ankle he suffered in Tuesday's OT win over Turkey.
Tatum will miss at least the next couple games against Japan and the team that ends up second in Group F (likely Greece) in the Round of 16. Team USA also plays on the day he is expected to be re-evaluated, so it’s possible that he doesn’t return to the court until the quarterfinals of the tournament. Khris Middleton, Harrison Barnes and Donovan Mitchell will continue carrying the offensive burden while Jaylen Brown, his teammate in Boston, will also have to step up.
