Mirotic had the starting power forward job wrapped up in camp before being sucker punched by teammate Bobby Portis. In the meantime, Lauri Markkanen has grabbed hold of the job and there’s no signs that he’ll relinquish the role after performing above expectations. Mirotic will now be splitting power forward minutes off the bench with Portis, though he should win that battle if it’s truly merit based. A trade is likely coming soon given the awkward situation between those two, and it’d be great for Mirotic’s fantasy value as well. He has easy top-100 upside thanks to his across-the-board production and owns a low-end floor thanks to his deep shooting and shot blocking. More minutes would get him into the middle-round conversation but he’s still worth owning in standard leagues so long as the Bulls don’t totally bury him on the depth chart.
