Rodney Hood is targeting Wednesday’s game with the Bulls to return from his ankle injury, per Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune.
Hood’s left ankle has cost him seven games on the sideline, and potentially much more than that. There’s almost no chance that the Jazz pull rookie sensation Donovan Mitchell from the starting five and Alec Burks has been fantastic off the bench in increased minutes. Utah has no good answers here, as all three guys deserve to play. Hood is probably drawing the short end of the straw while he shakes off the rust, so he’s not someone to run out and add right now. He’s a late-round asset thanks to his scoring and 3-point output but it might be wise to see how the rotation shakes out before dropping someone of steadier value.
