Ryan Anderson is being called doubtful for Wednesday’s game and could be replaced in the starting five by Sam Dekker.
With the Rockets sitting comfortably in third and with little hope of catching the Spurs, expect the team to play it safe with their big free agent signing. Anderson and a host of other key players could soon be seeing rest days as the season winds down, so keep that in mind going forward. Sam Dekker would draw into the starting lineup while Mike D’Antoni could dust off Montrezl Harrell against a sizeable Jazz frontcourt. Dekker could be worth an add if Anderson’s back troubles turn into a multi-game ordeal.
Update: It appears as though Eric Gordon would draw the start.
This squashes Dekker’s appeal and doesn’t change the calculus too much for Houston. Gordon gets a small boost for as long as he’d start. The fun wrinkle here would be James Harden guarding the power forward spot.
