Hornets coach Steve Clifford said that the timetable for Marvin Williams (knee) is “hard to evaluate” at this point, and it will depend on how Williams’ knee responds to swelling.
Clifford said that the timetable for Williams to begin exercising is “day-to-day,” but at this juncture it is “hard to tell how long it is going to be.” Williams was diagnosed with a bone bruise in his left knee after an MRI on Saturday. The good news is that the MRI revealed no damage to his ligaments, so the injury sounds short-term. The speed of his recovery will largely depend on the swelling of his knee and if he can get that under control, then he will begin working out. Williams is averaging 9.9 points and 6.1 rebounds in a disappointing start for owners this season. Frank Kaminsky is starting in his absence.
