Taj Gibson (hamstring) started and scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting with 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks over 31 minutes in the Bulls’ 92-85 win over the Jazz on Saturday.
Gibson was almost out of the lineup depending on which Bulls reporter you listened to on Saturday. He chewed out his team to positive effect at halftime and this is the second time he has delivered on the numbers since being called doubtful for Thursday’s game. He’s as must-start as they get right now, though he’ll lose some of his upside when a hobbled Pau Gasol (knee) returns as soon as Wednesday. Nikola Mirotic got back on owners’ good sides with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two threes in 33 minutes off the bench.
