Taj Gibson left Tuesday’s game during the third quarter due to a hamstring injury and did not return, and he is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Magic.
Gibson left after logging 23 minutes with 13 points, three boards and one steal and the Bulls behind by 13 points heading into the third quarter. He will get treatment tonight and be evaluated in the morning. Bobby Portis spoke before the game about hitting the rookie wall and some personal issues he was going through, which we don’t want to blatantly attribute to his lack of effectiveness when given the opportunity this month, but it does provide some context. Portis finished with 11 points, seven boards, four steals and a three in his 27 minutes of action, and he’s a flier-level speculative add with the hope he can finally justify the hype — and the Gibson injury turns out to be serious.
