Magic forward Terrence Ross (hamstring) made it through Tuesday’s practice and will be re-evaluated on Wednesday.
Ross said he hopes to play in the opener against the Heat, but we all know the nature of hamstring injuries and the Magic may want to take precaution. If he sits Jonathon Simmons would likely start in his place and be backed up by Wesley Iwundu and Arron Afflalo. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Simmons eventually take the starting gig all to himself even when Ross is fully healthy, but the Magic may still want to see what if Ross can reach his full potential after trading for him last season.
