Terrence Ross remains hopeful that he can return this season but Frank Vogel said that Ross is “still a ways away” from playing again this season.
After suffering a sprained MCL and a non-displaced fracture in his tibial plateau in late November, even Ross knows that a return is an optimistic outcome. Asked if he could be back with the Magic this year, he said, “Hopefully. I hope so. It’s all about how I feel. It’s a little tough. Some days it feels good, and then some days it kind of flares up. So I’m just in that stage where I’m just trying to keep it all healthy.” He was trending in the right direction early in February but suffered a knee bone bruise that looks like it could end his season. We were hopeful that Ross could become a top-110 player this season but he floundered in the starting role and was injured before he could really get into any sort of rhythm. Perhaps next year will be kinder.
