• The Knicks announced that Tim Hardaway Jr. has begun a rehab program for a stress reaction in his left leg and that he will be reevaluated in two weeks.

Hardaway last played on November 29th and will miss the foreseeable future. Initially he insisted that his lower leg injury was no big deal, but things appear to have snowballed. Even if this isn’t the same as his foot injury from a few weeks ago, you can imagine that playing at less than 100 percent in THJ’s workload was hardly the best thing for him. Players tend to overcompensate when something isn’t quite right, which is why so many teams insist on players making full recovery before returning. Look for Courtney Lee, Doug McDermott and Damyean Dotson to pick up extra run over the next two weeks at minimum.
