• Wendell Carter Jr.
    PF, Chicago Bulls

Wendell Carter Jr. will undergo surgery for a core muscle injury on Tuesday, July 9, though he is expected to be ready for training camp.

Carter missed 38 games in his rookie season after undergoing left thumb surgery, and it appears he's been bitten by the injury bug yet again. Thankfully this is expected to be relatively minor, but prospective fantasy owners will need to check back for updates to see if WCJ is indeed ready when camp opens. The talented big man put up top-120 value when he was on the court last season and is expected to be one of Chicago's featured players this season. The Bulls' additions of Thad Young and Luke Kornet make a little more sense now, just in case Carter isn't ready to go when the team believes.
