The Bulls are holding a press conference today to introduce Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen.
All three came to the Bulls through a draft night trade where the Wolves sent Dunn, LaVine and the seventh pick which became Markkanen for All-Star Jimmy Butler and the No. 16 pick. VP of basketball operations John Paxson declared it a “new chapter” for the franchise. Paxson and Coach Fred Hoiberg voiced their excitement for the new pieces and hope to form a good foundation for their rebuild. LaVine stated that his knee feels “real good” after a torn ACL ended his season and is currently rehabbing. The doctors gave him a nine month timeline which would project him to play his first game as a Bull in November. Paxson made the decision to trade Butler because they are “not satisfied being in the middle of the pack.” The Bulls will need to continue stockpiling assets to return to an elite level.
