Detroit is has reached an agreement to trade guard Jodie Meeks to Orlando in exchange for a 2019 future second-round pick.
Orlando has been looking to improve their shooting and this deal brings in a true three-point specialist. Meeks is set to make $6.5 million on an expiring deal, so he’s a cost effective asset for the Magic. Despite battling injuries the past two seasons he can still shoot the ball, and there’s potential for him to carve out a substantial role with the Magic. It will be interesting to see if this deal marks the end of their interest in Jamal Crawford. If so, Meeks is firmly on the standard league radar for 2016-17.
The trade of Jodie Meeks to the Orlando Magic for a future conditional second-round pick is now official.
