Manu Ginobili and David West have both declined to pick up their player options, making them unrestricted free agents.
Ginobili’s option would have been worth $2.94 million for the 2016-17 season. At this point in his career it seems unlikely that he joins another team, and is likely just weighing his options. Tim Duncan (who also has a player option) is currently pondering his own future, and Ginobili might simply be waiting on Duncan before making his decision. Regardless, if he returns Ginobili can be safely ignored in almost all fantasy leagues next season.
West is similarly considering his own retirement. Despite the solid minutes he gave the Spurs last season, he is little more than a streaming option in the deepest of leagues if he does decide to suit up again next season.
David West has decided not to pick up option w/#Spurs, his agent said. "He hasn't 100 % even decided to play," Jeff Austin said.
