Woj is reporting that Phil Jackson may see Arizona forward Lauri Markkanen as a potential replacement for Kristaps Porzingis.
The Knicks appear to be ready to test the market and see what they can get for Porzingis and if such a blockbuster trade were to go down, that would leave them with a gaping hole in their frontcourt. Phil Jackson had a dinner meeting with the freshman forward from Arizona and apparently views him as a possible replacement. The Finnish seven footer is three inches shorter than Porzingis but both players’ last season averages are very similar with the draft prospet putting up 15.6 points on an efficient 54.5 percent shooting from inside the arc (42.3 percent from deep and 83.5 percent from the line) to go with 7.2 rebounds. The Knicks have been heavily linked to French guard Frank Ntikilina but we won’t have to wait much longer to see who the team selects with the 8th pick.
