Sources tell ESPN’s Marc Stein that the Hawks will try and trade their two first-round picks – including the one acquired today for Jeff Teague – to make re-signing Al Horford easier.
While moving their picks in the name of cap flexibility is an interesting idea, it’s unclear what kind of market is out there for them. At this point it seems as if every lottery pick after No. 2 is available, meaning the Hawks may find a hard time sniffing out another deal. Either way, how the Hawks approach the draft could tell us a great deal about their prospects of retaining Horford.
Draft picks for sale! By my count that's picks 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, & 21 on the market https://t.co/Wk8FKlimOo
