The Pistons have reportedly been granted a $5.24 million disabled player exception on Tuesday according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
It wasn’t specifically mentioned, but the assumption is that the exception comes from Jon Leuer who’s out for the season with an ankle issue. The Pistons can sign a player with this money, either now or they could wait until the buyout market develops when more appealing options become available. It’s unlikely the player they potentially sign will have any fantasy value, but it’s something to keep an eye on just in case. Another note, the Pistons would have to waive someone in order to actually use the exception too.
