Stan Van Gundy has liked what he’s seen out of rookie Luke Kennard, enough to the point that he could fight for minutes this season.
Kennard was regarded as one of the best shooters in the draft and if he’s really made strides on defense it might be tough to keep him off the floor. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (assuming he re-signs) might benefit from a lighter workload and the Pistons run a heavy roster that really lacks outside shooting. Kennard could fix two problems at once, but temper your expectations until the games get rolling. He’s an interesting dynasty play but is highly unlikely to have value in single-season formats.
