Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Heat are in no hurry to trade Goran Dragic, who's on an expiring contract, or Justise Winslow, whose salary makes him an attractive trade asset.
Despite a failed trade to the Mavs this past offseason and the fact that Dragic is on an expiring contract, the veteran PG was a 6th Man of the Year candidate before going down with a groin injury. Similarly, Justise Winslow is a versatile defender on an affordable contract. Early indications are that the Heat are satisfied with their current personnel. Woj cautions that, while Pat Riley is not the type to back away from making a splash via trades, the Heat want to be major players once the 2020 free agent period opens and this may preclude them from taking on any large, long-term contract via a trade, such as Chris Paul's. Once these two return to action, they'll likely muddy the waters for fantasy value on the Heat, but they're both net positives on the court for this surprisingly good Heat team.
