Adrian Wojnarowski speculates that the Pistons could look to break up their Blake Griffin-Andre Drummond frontcourt pairing via trade this season.
Griffin never quite fit the Pistons' timeline for a rebuild despite his heroic effort for the team in the 2018-19 season and Andre Drummond has a player option which, if exercised, would vault him to the top of the 2020 free agent class. Griffin could still fetch something of value in a trade if his ongoing knee issue is minor and depending on the rest of the PF trade market. Drummond, however, is in a strange position where it's not clear to what extent the team believes him to be a core piece of their future and no potential suitors have emerged for his services on the trade market. Regardless, the Pistons will be hard-pressed to contend with their current roster construction and a trade seems likely. Should either of these players get traded, Christian Wood will be a hot pickup with the proverbial "league-winning" upside.
