The Mavs may decline Dirk Nowitzki‘s $25 million option for next season according to Dallas reporter Eddie Sefko.
This move is just to restructure a new contract that would allow the Mavs to have more financial flexibility. They will likely re-sign the big man to another two-year deal which would include an option for the second, so don’t expect the German to be in a different uniform anytime soon. The Mavs are looking to retain Nerlens Noel in restricted free agency, while also adding another piece to compete in the West. They must make a decision on his option by June 29.
