Shams Charania of the Athletic is reporting that Kawhi Leonard has signed a three-year, $103M maximum contract with the Clippers, with a player option in the third season.
Leonard has signed a two-plus-one contract in order to align his deal with Paul George’s one, with both players having the ability to enter free agency again in 2021. The Clippers gave up a lot of future picks as well as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in order to acquire PG and pair him with Kawhi and the pressure is on as, if things don’t turn up as expected, both All-Stars could hit the open market again in just a couple years.
