Vaughn was traded along with a second round pick to the Nets in exchange for Tyler Zeller before the deadline. He made one debut for the Nets and played four minutes and was then traded two days later to the Pelicans for Dante Cunningham. The Pelicans waived the 21-year-old shortly thereafter. The former 1st round pick in 2015 will have a chance to make a mark with the talent starved Magic and may actually get decent run on a team that is tanking. Don’t add him, but keep an eye on the situation.
January 18, 2020, 11:50 pmRudy GobertC, Utah Jazz
Rudy Gobert feasted on the Kings in Saturday's 123-101 win, powering the Jazz to victory with 28 points on 9-of-11 field goals and a suprising 10-of-11 free throws.
Gobert was also a beast on the glass, collecting 15 boards and a Kings' bane on defense with two steals and three blocks to his name. This was a favorable matchup for the Stifle Tower, but his 10-of-11 run at the line was a more-than-pleasant surprise considering he's shooting .606 from the stripe this season.
January 18, 2020, 11:49 pmFurkan KorkmazSG, Philadelphia Sixers
Furkan Korkmaz finished Saturday's win over the Knicks with 17 points, on 6-of-12 shooting from the field, and no other countable statistics.
Coming off the bench, Korkmaz scored 17 points, with three from behind the arc. However, the nice points are completely empty as he did not contribute at all in any other statistical category and over the past five games has averaged less than two rebounds and one assist per game. He should not be owned in any but the deepest of leagues.
January 18, 2020, 11:44 pmJulius RandlePF, New York Knicks
Julius Randle double-doubled in Saturday's loss to the Sixers, finishing with 14 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and five turnovers.
A bit of a sloppy game for Randle as he coughed up the ball five times against the Sixers. The turnovers negated the assists, as he also finished with five of those. He did not contribute any defensive statistics, so in addition to his poor efficiency from the field (5-of-13) he had a rather empty game even with the novelty of a double-double.
January 18, 2020, 11:44 pmKevin LovePF, Cleveland Cavaliers
Kevin Love shot 10-of-20 from the field and 4-of-8 from beyond the arc on his way to scoring 29 points with five rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in 34 minutes.
Love is inside the top-70 in 9-cat on the season and will keep posting that value as long as he's on the court. Fantasy owners shouldn't worry about a potential trade hurting Love's value.
January 18, 2020, 11:38 pmLarry Nance Jr.PF, Cleveland Cavaliers
Larry Nance Jr. came off the bench on Saturday to score four points with five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 25 minutes.
The points were low but the peripheral stats were great for Nance on Saturday and he's coming off a 16-point performance in 24 minutes on Friday. Nance could have late-round value coming off the bench for the Cavs and would be a must-add player if Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson are traded. It makes sense to stash Nance in 12-team leagues if your team can afford it.
January 18, 2020, 11:34 pmElfrid PaytonPG, New York Knicks
Elfrid Payton scored 10 points in Saturday's loss to the Sixers, chipping in seven rebounds, seven assists, one steal and a block.
Payton missed both of his 3-pointer attempts otherwise he would have finished the game with a contribution across all statistical categories. With Payton appearing to have temporarily won the starting point guard job for the Knicks, look for him to be an option for teams in need of ball-handling guard.
January 18, 2020, 11:31 pmDarius GarlandPG, Cleveland Cavaliers
Darius Garland tallied 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting with five assists, three 3-pointers and eight turnovers on Saturday.
It was an inefficient night for Garland but he was able to bludgeon his way to collect some points, assists and threes. Garland has increased his assists lately and is averaging 5.8 over his past nine games to go with 15.9 points and 2.1 threes. He's worth grabbing in standard leagues and is the preferred fantasy option in the Cavs' backcourt over Collin Sexton.
January 18, 2020, 11:30 pmMarcus MorrisPF, New York Knicks
Marcus Morris scored 20 points in Saturday's home loss against the Sixers, chipping in six rebounds and two assists.
Morris continues to grind away and score in New York's crowded frontcourt. With this game, he is scoring almost 25 points per game in the month of January. He can chip in a few rebounds and steals but is main contribution is his steady points and 3-pointers.
January 18, 2020, 11:23 pmDe'Aaron FoxPG, Sacramento Kings
De'Aaron Fox scored 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting with eight assists and four rebounds before fouling out in 31 minutes on Saturday.
Fox fouled out late in the game and was the lone bright spot for the Kings in a 123-101 blowout loss. Fox has hit his stride in January with averages of 24.1 points, 5.6 boards, 8.4 assists and 2.0 steals. He's showing that he's capable of returning value on his early-round ADP late in the season.
January 18, 2020, 11:22 pmMike ConleyPG, Utah Jazz
Mike Conley (left hamstring strain) returned to action for the Jazz on Saturday, seeing 15 minutes of action and producing three points on 1-of-3 shooting (all from deep) with one rebound, three assists and two steals.
It's a good first baby step back for Conley, who will clearly be eased in by the Jazz. He should, in time, eventually make his way back into the starting lineup, which should push Joe Ingles (two points, nine rebounds, 12 assists, 31 minutes) back to a reserve role.
