The Warriors are dealing Andre Iguodala and a first-round pick to the Grizzlies to open up space for Sunday's sign-and-trade of D'Angelo Russell.
The Warriors were hard-capped by the S&T and Iguodala, one of Golden State's rocks in their dynasty, was the one to take the hit. The pick is top-4 protected in 2024, top-1 protected in 2025 and unprotected in 2026 should it come to that. Iguodala has a chance to start for the young Grizzlies, but also stands out as a trade candidate that the Grizz could flip for even more futures. They could also buy him out. No word yet on what the Warriors are receiving beyond salary relief.
