Blake Griffin scored 17 points on 5-of-19 shooting (1-of-7 3PTs, 6-of-6 FTs) with six rebounds, five assists and one steal in Friday’s loss to the Thunder.
We’re already seeing the impact of his 5.5 3PAs per game as his field goal percentage has dipped down to 45.5 percent so far this year, while his other numbers have remained mostly constant or even gone up. We’re not surprised to see him start off fast and he certainly looks more bouncy, but our concerns are in February, March and April after some mileage has piled up. We called his first five-game push the league’s biggest sell-high moment and with just top-45 value on the year now owners don’t have much time to try and sell the big name for a tidy profit.
