Hassan Whiteside scored eight points with 20 boards, three steals and three blocks in Friday’s road win over the Jazz, but said after the game that he’s still dealing with a bone bruise on his knee.
You can watch the video from Ira Winderman at the Sun-Sentinel in Miami to get a sense for it yourself, but Whiteside has spent most of his career dealing with some sort of ailment and we haven’t given him a great durability rating. For his part, Whiteside has been great when on the floor this year with top-24 value and averages of 15.3 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.9 blocks while hitting 68 percent from the foul line. The steals are nice but the blocks are a sign of decreased defensive stat ability and the free throws are a big question mark, so owners may want to try and sell high while the going is relatively good.
