Taj Gibson dominated the Lakers in Monday’s victory, scoring 23 points and corralling 11 rebounds while shooting a sterling 11-of-13 from the field.
Gibson even hit a three and added a steal. Despite the fact that a couple of his four offensive rebounds came with a lopsided scoreboard, the Lakers offered little resistance for him tonight. The old Thibs Favorite has emerged with solid middle-round value on the year, with most of it being driven by his 33.4 minutes per game. He’s a nice help for rebounds and percentages and an occasional contributor for blocks, but expecting him to return top-70 value all year is a bit of a stretch. While the Wolves might keep force feeding him minutes, a sell high move seems like a wise call.
