Shane Larkin had his first productive game in a long while with 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and eight assists in 35 minutes of action in Friday’s overtime win against the Nuggets.
The Nuggets’ defense has to be noted here but we’ve been waiting for Larkin to do something with his immense opportunity all season. He started the year as a very late-round value in just over 20 mpg, but that was short-lived as he plummeted to the bottom of the top-200 and beyond. Donald Sloan (seven points, two boards, seven assists, one block, one three, 18 minutes) was minimized by Larkin’s strong effort, and they’ll continue to cancel each other out for fantasy purposes. Keep an eye on Larkin and if he can build off of it he’ll be a speculative add, while Sloan should get another game before we declare him out of the top-150 in standard leagues.
