The Grizzlies have signed former VCU point guard Briante Weber to a 10-day deal.
Weber was known for his defense and his career was derailed by a major knee injury on January 31, 2015. He has been playing in the D-League where he averaged just 10.6 points to go with 4.0 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals in his last seven games. It sounds like he’ll get a chance to play and from there he’ll need to show that he can hang, but the opportunity is there for the kid and in the fantasy sense if he can continue to get steals, boards and assists maybe he can pan out. He’s a speculative add in 14-18 team leagues for the point guard needy.
