Joffrey Lauvergne scored 11 points off the bench on Wednesday, hitting 3-of-13 shots (1-of-1 3PTs, 4-of-4 FTs) with seven rebounds, two assists and one block in 21 minutes.
This is why we haven’t been giving up on Lauvergne. He and Nikola Jokic (seven points, three boards, one block, one three) have similar games but Lauvergne is probably the more polished between the two. Heck, we like them both! They’re mid-to-high level stashes with some ability to produce while you’re waiting for their breakout, which would start to happen if they can eclipse 25 mpg. There’s a big crowd in the frontcourt but Jusuf Nurkic isn’t looking so great in terms of an immediate impact, and Kenneth Faried (14 points, nine boards, three assists, one block, 29 minutes) isn’t exactly hogging up playing time.
