Mario Hezonja started for injured Victor Oladipo (back contusion) in Friday’s loss to the Suns, scoring 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 34 minutes.
We’re getting a real good idea of what a stat set for Hezonja can look like and it’s pretty nice and also pretty standard for a shooting guard. The sky is the limit for this kid down the road but right now when Oladipo returns he’ll be back in the Scott Skiles spin cycle as a reserve playing limited minutes. The only hope for value this season would be a changing of goals from playoffs to development, and with a loss to the Suns that switch might have been flipped tonight. He’s a stash candidate, but owners have to be realistic about the odds of success.
