Kendrick Nunn had quite a night in the California Classic Summer League as he led the Heat to an 89-88 win over the Kings by posting 27 points (9-for-20 FGs, 5-for-5 FTs), four threes, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in 35 minutes.
A high school teammate of Jabari Parker, Nunn also had all six of his fouls in his first 17 minutes, but Summer League allows for ten. Nunn averaged 19.3 points in 29.0 minutes per game off the bench over 49 games for the Santa Cruz Warriors last season. He was also a 25.9 ppg scorer the previous season as a senior at Oakland. The Heat have quite a crowded backcourt, but they probably have the best track record when it comes to developing undrafted G-League players, so there's hope that Nunn could stick on the big-league squad.
