Aaron Gordon was masterful in Friday’s 115-106 win, racking up a game-high 27 points on 10-of-19 from the field to go with 13 rebounds, two assists, two steals, a block and three 3-pointers.
The efficiency made this one a bit of a throwback line, as Gordon has seen his shooting percentage plummet since a fantastic start. It was screaming for regression by the end of December but AG remains in the top-100 this season despite that major dip and his swaths of missed time. His work of late puts him in line for some positive regression in the shooting department, so Gordon will have a good shot at finishing inside the top-50 on a per-game basis for the first time in his career. Despite the bumps in the road it’s been a true breakout for Gordon, who is finally being put in a position to succeed by the Magic.
