Russell Westbrook was a handful on Friday night, finishing with 27 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals, five turnovers and one 3-pointer as the Thunder dropped a home game to the Pistons on Friday night.
This week’s performances from Westbrook have been as close to last season’s virtuoso MVP performance as he’s gotten. In three games this week, Westbrook is averaging 28 points, 12 rebounds, nearly 11 assists and three steals. He’s done it on horrid shooting percentages though it does seem as if his free throw woes are behind him. In terms of volume, this is why Westbrook was a unanimous top five pick. He’s got one more game this week — against the Mavericks, a team he loves to face (27-6-5 in first meeting of the season nearly two weeks ago.)
